In Tibet the tradition is to take flags with the wishes to the top of the mountains so when the wind blows they believe it makes the dreams come true.

Well, as we’re a little bit far here I choose to take the wishes to Primorse Hill, one of the highest spots in London. It was a beautiful sunny and very… windy day!

I hope the wind will blow away our dreams and make them all come true. Thanks to all who collaborated!

For the event I’m presenting I wish or Wish Xmas’ Tree – Summer and Winter. Christ Redeemer, a symbol of Rio de Janeiro, becomes a Christmas tree. Inside its shape I wrote my wishes/desires in small tags. The yellow and green ‘tree’ represent Brazil and its Tropical Summer Christmas, what until I moved to London was the only Christmas I knew. The green and red tree is the Snow Winter Christmas, which is my how my Christmas is now…

On the left hand side of both works there’s a small gold pocket with blank papers and nails so who buys it can write its own wishes.

I wish is a work inspired my by habit of wishing all the time… So, let’s dream together! I’ll bring the wish rope to the next Poetical Cabaret, Dec 8^th Thursd, at the Moustache Bar (address below), from 8-11pm.

Is there anything you want badly? Close your eyes, think of it… Ok, open! Write it down on a rag, hang it on the rope, and I’ll do the rest for you. According to a Tibetan tradition people take flags with their desires to the top of mountains because they believe that when the wind blows it carries their dreams with it, making them true. Well, as Tibet is a little bit far, after the Cabaret I’ll bring the rope to Primorse Hill instead and let the wind blow, so I’ll make sure all our wishes will became true!

Poetical Cabaret is an event with the best line-up around! Burlesque, poetry, surprise theatre, comedy, art exhibitions, and all kinds of music.

The espace was curated by Samir Ceric from London’s Debut Contemporary Gallery in collaboration with three artists from Debut: Nicola Anthony, Abigail Box and Kimi Wylde and Flag Stop’s Ryan Noble.

As a result, an exhibition is now confirmed at the Orange County Centre for Contemporary Art (OCCCA) in December – January, among many other opportunities to follow.

“Free Adivce, a writer’s performance”, will take place at the gallery on the 2nd July, at 2pm.

As if at the psychologist, participants are invited to share their problems: from a new hair cut to cooking, relationship, what to wear for special occasions or whatever disturbs him/her.

Each participant served will received a prescription containing an advice/ short short story typewritten at the moment.

Do you live/ lived in London? Have you ever felt home sick? What’s the best thing about the place you came from that I would never know if I didn’t meet you?

I’m interviewing people who live in London but are from other cities/ countries. The aim is to show, from a different point of view, the cultural diversity in London and also to promote cultural exchange.

I’d like to show curiosities, things that are not found in the history books or tourist information guides.

The testimonies/ writings will then be displayed inside the shape of the places people are originally from. The result will be a fragmented ‘emotional’ world map.

As some people I’m interviewing are in London for a long time, even if they have visited their home towns, the testimonies are often subjective and emotive. They are very specific about places, people, food, pets… things they left behind and they miss the most!

I’m currently looking for collaborations of people from all nationalities. If you want to take part, please email me at symorgado@gmail.com telling me something interesting about your city and your full name for the credits.
